Went to the Ringside Cafe on Saturday for the Allen Stone concert. Incredible show!! Thank you very much Ringside for bringing in such an amazing talent. Been a fan of his for years and was sorely disappointed when his show at the Mahaffey was canceled last year. So kudos to you! Very cool spot in downtown St Pete to watch local and national talent. It is nice that they have comfortable outdoor seating to relax in while waiting for doors to open, especially since some of us had been waiting for a couple hours. Once in, I got a bottle of water ($3.50+tip, eek!) to quench my thirst. There is limited seating and I believe they also serve food. Tables can be found upstairs but you'll have to get there early to land one of those. However, if there's a show going on, you may not have the best view. The one thing I would knock would be the acoustics. I'm not sure what can be done to improve this but the sound was a little muffled from both performers. Hoping with a venue of this size, Ringside can land more national acts (Citizen Cope please! Future Islands? James Vincent McMorrow!!!). Another act like Allen Stone and I would bump them up to a 5 even if it sounded like they were singing with a sock over their mouth.

3 stars for an a-ok drink or two! To preface, this is what I was looking for when walking around downtown St Pete: - a bar spacious enough to find a seat and catch up with a couple of people - liquor please - not full of TVs playing the football game This bar met all of my criteria and was a convenient meeting spot. They had a band come on for live music, which was entertaining. The staff was friendly. Drinks were quick and strong. Was a great place to start our night.

I'm not a fan of Down Town St. Petersburg. It confuses me, however this was a friend's birthday party so I said I'd come. That and the Black Honkey's were playing, and she's said such good things about them... Given that it was a Friday Night, I was lucky enough to find parking right on Central Avenue and made my way to the venue. I had no idea they butted right up against Janus Landing. The location is spacious, high vaulted ceilings, and the tables and couches lend for a comfortable feeling. The bathroom (Women's) had the BEST sinks! I loved the color of them and the shape. The stalls were all large and well maintained and the only Graffiti I saw had a good message it read "Be kinder than you have to be" it is a personal mantra of mine - and no, I didn't leave it. Drinks.. Well I had one, it was a smallish size one of rum(Well) and diet and it ran me $6.00. So I think that's a touch expensive, but I would certainly come back. The band was good! I had to leave earlier than I expected, but Yeah, I'd come back again!

Stopped in here for a quick drink and a quick bite to eat before going to the museum. Nice happy hour specials like $2 draft beer and 2-4-1 wines. The food wasn't fantastic but pretty on par as far food at a bar. We were served by two extremely friendly waitresses. And the bathrooms were beautiful and clean. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because they have outdoor seating in front of the restaurant and it seemed that several people were stopping off of the street and were quite rowdy and weren't even customers. But overall a great building with pretty of seating and I am sure it would be fun to see a band there.

Been there a few times. I like how they have two bars: one on the main floor and one upstairs. Okay drink specials, too. One can watch the bands from the 2nd floor balcony or from the main floor. The sound is pretty good. Many couches to sit on as well. There's a lot of space to dance and socialize. My friends and I always had a great time there.

First things first. I love the new location. I'm all for the historic preservation of Ringside, but this is a much better venue than 4th Street was. The best thing about Ringside is it's proximity to the heart of St. Pete. That, and $3 Amber Bocks. Another huge draw for me is the service here. Amber and Laura are awesome bartenders and do a terrific job of making sure even those of us hanging out way over by the Golden Tee always have a cold beer - and a friendly smile! A Plus for service. I haven't had a chance to try any of the food, but I really like the layout and roominess of the new joint. They have lots of live music and are just around the corner from Jannus Live - so make sure you stop in and have a beer on your way to the concert. Tell Laura and Amber I said hello!
